November 24, 2013
This past month we have had some fun opportunities.  We went to a Murder Mystery Dinner with Grant's cousins and their wives.  We had to dress up like our characters in the murder mystery.  Laura's character was a rich girl with lots of jewelry so that was easy for me to pull off(maybe not the rich part, but I do have lots of jewlery) and Grant was a nerd with a pocket protector, since he is studying engineering he had just the right math tools to put a costume together.  Sadly I forgot to take pictures.  Sorry:(
One of our awesome neighbors from the ward we just moved from invited us to the Share the Harvest dinner, which is a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club.  This has become somewhat of a tradition for us since this is our third year going.  They have the children from the Boys and Girls club come dance and sing and then they have a silent auction and a regular auction to raise money for the club.  We have really enjoyed being part of this great cause. Along with the fundraising it was fun to see several of our neighbors we haven't seen since we moved almost a year ago.  Fun time catching up with everyone!
One of the teachers Laura works with had some Ballet tickets that she couldn't use so she gave them to us to go see Ballet West in the production of "Fire bird".  It was a wonderful experience.  Grant even seemed to enjoy it.  That is one of the things I love about Grant.  He is willing to try new things even if it means going to a ballet. :)

Harvest Time!  It is that time of year where all of the hard work on the garden pays off.  We planted many things this year in our garden including: squash, zucchini, beets, onions, leeks, tomatoes, pumpkins, cabbage, swiss chard, peppers, peas, green beans, okra, eggplant and carrots.  We have been trying new recipes and canning some of it so that we can enjoy it later.
